Edebiyat eğitiminde peygamber kıssalarının rolü: Yûnus Kıssasının Buket Uzuner’in Su romanındaki izleri

Abstract

Modern edebiyatta yazarlar zaman zaman tarihî gerçeklerden, peygamber kıssalarından, menkıbevi olaylardan yararlanırlar. Bu durum, anlatılan hikâyenin derinlik ve çağrışım zenginliği kazanmasını sağlar. Divan edebiyatından modern edebiyata gelen çizgide peygamber kıssaları, metne boyut katmanın yanı sıra ibret verici yönüyle de ele alınmış, eğitici bir işlev üstlenmiştir. Okur, bu hikâyeler ile hayal gücünü genişlettiği gibi yaşananlardan kendi hayatı için hisse çıkarır. Kıssa, günümüzde "hikâye", "mesel" gibi anlamlara gelse de sözlük anlamına bakıldığında "bir kimsenin izini sürmek" ya da "nakletmek" manalarını da barındırır. Divan edebiyatında "iktibas" ve "telmih" yoluyla okura hatırlatılan bu kıssalar, modern edebiyatta roman ya da hikâyenin tamamına yayılabildiği gibi eserdeki temalardan biri de olabilir. Böylece bu kıssalar bir dönüşüm geçirerek geçmişten geleceğe süreklilik arz eder. Modern Türk edebiyatının önemli isimlerinden Buket Uzuner'in Uyumsuz Defne Kaman'ın Maceraları-Su adlı romanında, dört unsurdan biri olan "su" ana izleği bağlamında Yûnus kıssasına yer verilmiştir. Yûnus peygamber, zor durumdan balığın karnında gizlenerek kurtulmuş, tövbe etmiş ve halkını ikna edebilmek için sabırlı olması gerektiğini anlamıştır. Su romanında da Buket Uzuner, karakterlerinin dönüşümünde Yûnus kıssasından yararlanmış, yeni neslin bu kıssayı ve altındaki dersi algılamasını istemiştir. Bu çalışmada, kutsal kitaplardan Tevrat, İncil ve Kur'an'da geçen Yûnus kıssasının Buket Uzuner'in Uyumsuz Defne Kaman'ın MaceralarıSu adlı romanındaki izleri takip edilecek, kıssanın dönüştürücü rolü, romanın kurgusu bağlamında açımlanmaya çalışılacaktır

In modern literature writers sometimes use historical facts, prophet parables, and occasional events. This allows the narrative described to be rich in depth and connotation. In the line from the modern literature of Divan literature, the prophets’ parables have taken on a teaching function, which has been discussed in a salient way as well as the dimension of the text. While readers expand their imagination with these stories, they take out lessons for their own lives. Although parable comes to mean “story” or “adage” nowadays, the dictionary also includes the meaning of “tracing someone” or “transferring” it. These parables, reminiscent of the reader through the “iqtibas” and the "reference" in Divan literature, can be one of the themes in the work as well as spreading the novel or story in modern literature. Thus, these parables undergo a transformation, continuing from the past to the future. Buket Uzuner, as one of the associations of water in her novel Water, referred to the lie of the Prophet Jonah and realized the above-mentioned transformation and requested the new generation to perceive this episode and the lesson below. Prophet Jonah escaped a danger by taking refuge in the mouth of a fish, repented, and realized that he must show patience to turn his people from their evil. Buket Uzuner in the Water novel also benefited from parable of Yunus in the transformation of her characters; and she requested the new generation to perceive this episode and the lesson below. In this study, the traces of the Jonah’s parable in the Qur’an, the Torah and the Bible will be followed from the sacred books, and the role of the transforming this parable in Buket Uzuner’s The Adventures of Misfit Defne Kaman Water novel will be tried to be explained in the context of the novel.
