Obituary: Late Professor Mahmut KAVAKLIOGLU
Abstract
Dr. Mahmut Kavaklioglu was born in 1960 in the Ladik district of Samsun, Turkey. He finished his primary and secondary education in Ladik, and got his high school degree in Amasya Imam-Hatip High School. In 1983 he graduated from Divinity School of Ondokuz Mayis University. For a time, he served as an assistant to the city mufti and as a mufti for several districts. He was appointed as a research assistant to the Institute of Social Science of Marmara University. Dr. Kavaklioglu earned his masters degree in 1989, and became a doctor of Hadith in 1995. On April 4, 1996, he came to Divinity School of Hitit University (earlier named Corum Divinity School of Gazi University) as an assistant professor. He became an associate professor in 2005, and a professor in 2011. In the morning of Tuesday, September 8, 2020, he passed away to the eternal world. May Allah rest his soul.
