Öğe Antrenörlerin örgütsel miyopi düzeylerinin incelenmesi(Hitit Üniversitesi, 2025) Bayraktar, Selma; Çeviker, AbdulkerimThe aim of this study is to examine the level of organizational myopia among coaches working at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The study population consists of 412 coaches employed at the Ankara Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. The sample comprises 385 team and individual sports coaches selected through a simple random sampling method. As data collection tools, a Personal Information Form and the Organizational Blindness Scale (OBS) were utilized. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS statistical software package. Given that the data set included multiple dependent and independent variables, normality tests were conducted to ensure suitability for multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA).Based on the data obtained from the sample and the correlation analysis conducted, it was observed that the mean scores for the individual and routinization subdimensions of the Organizational Blindness Scale were similar, while the mean score for organizational factors was higher than the other dimensions. The Cronbach's Alpha values for all factors were above 0.820, indicating that the measurements were reliable. The findings of the study revealed the effects of variables such as age, gender, marital status, educational background, years of professional experience, duration of employment at the institution, coaching certification level, and experience in coaching at the national team level on organizational blindness. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the organizational blindness of coaches is complex and multidimensional. Particularly, individual variables such as educational level, age, and experience emerge as significant factors influencing coaches' perceptions. In order to reduce organizational blindness, encouraging coaches to participate in continuous education and professional development opportunities could strengthen the management strategies of sports organizations. Furthermore, conducting more comprehensive studies that consider demographic factors such as gender and marital status may contribute to a better understanding of organizational dynamics. Future research that delves deeper into these issues may support the development of strategies aimed at reducing organizational blindness in the sports sector.
