Öğe Nigella sativa (çörek otu) katkılı nanoliflerin üretimi ve yara örtüsü malzemesi potansiyelinin araştırılması(Hitit Üniversitesi, 2025) Erdal, Abdul Samed; Gökmeşe, FarukThis study aims to investigate the potential of bioactive compounds derived from Nigella sativa (black seed) in PVA-PVP-based nanofiber structures for biomedical applications. Bioactive compounds were successfully isolated from Nigella sativa seeds using the Soxhlet extraction method with ethanol and hexane as solvents. The extraction results revealed that esterification products predominated in the ethanol phase, while the hexane phase was rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. The obtained extracts were incorporated into PVA-PVP nanofibers produced via the electrospinning technique. FT-IR analyses confirmed the successful integration of the extracts into the nanofibers. In the characterization of nanofibers containing copper sulfate, the spectra showed distinct peaks corresponding to the sulfate groups and Cu–O bonds of CuSO₄·5H₂O. SEM analyses demonstrated that the nanofibers exhibited a homogeneous distribution, indicating that the electrospinning parameters had been optimized. The antimicrobial properties of the Nigella sativa-loaded nanofibers are currently under investigation and are expected to support their potential use in biomedical applications. The findings of this study provide a significant foundation for the utilization of Nigella sativa-derived bioactive compounds in the development of innovative nanotechnology-based materials.
