    How does regular exercise affect internet addiction level in university students?

    Purpose: The internet is one of the most important technological developments of the era. Internet usage rate is increased rapidly. This intensity of use is thought to cause some behavior disorders in people. In this study, it was aimed to determine the internet addiction status of university students and to evaluate the relationship between regularly exercise and academic achievement. Material: The study group is consisted 50 [n=25 female, n=25 male] university students. The mean of the age of participants was 21.47 +/- 1.66] Data was collected by personal information form and Internet Addiction Test. SPSS 22 program was used in the analysis of the obtained data and Shapiro-Wilk Test was applied to determine whether the data showed normal distribution and the significance level was accepted as p<0.05 in the analyses. Data were normally distributed. Paired-Samples T-Test was used to analyze of the data. Results: As the main hypothesis of the study, there was a significant difference between regularly exercise and internet addiction. Also, it was seen that the internet usage period of the participants who exercise regularly decreased. Conclusions: Doing regular exercise can reduces the level of internet addiction and the time spent on the Internet. Regulating and reducing the time spent on the internet can help to protect from psycho-social, physical and physiological negative effects of Internet addiction. It may be suggested to do regular exercise for this. Measures should be taken to reduce and prevent internet addiction of university students. Research can be repeated with different variables in different samples. For example; researches about internet addiction in elite level athletes.

    The relationship between attitude towards sports and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence in university students of sport science

    Purpose: Studies on the relationship between university students' attitudes towards sports and bodily kinesthetic intelligence have not been reached in the literature. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the attitudes towards sport and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence levels of university students who studying in the sport science. Material: The study group is consisted 268 [n=107 - female, n=161 - male] students. The mean of the age of participants was 21.4 year [+/- 3.2]. Data was collected by personal information form, Undergraduate Students' Attitudes Towards Sport Scale and the subscale of Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence of Multiple Intelligence Survey. SPSS 22 program was used in the analysis of the obtained data and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was applied to determine whether the data showed normal distribution and the significance level was accepted as 0.05 in the analyses. Data were not normally distributed. Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the data of gender and regularly exercise variable. Kruskal-Wallis test was used to analyze the age, university, department, and welfare level. Mann Whitney U test was used to determine the significant difference. Spearman Correlation test was applied to determine the relationship between the attitudes towards sport and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. Results: As a result of the research, a high level of significant correlation was found between attitudes towards sports and bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. Also, a significant difference was found between regularly exercise and welfare levels [p<0.05]. There was no significant difference in gender, age, university and department variables [p>0.05]. Conclusions: The level of participating in sports and the level of welfare supports the attitude towards sports and the developing of bodily-kinesthetic intelligence. Likewise, as the attitude towards sports increases positively, bodily kinesthetic intelligence also increases positively.

    The relationship between self-efficacy and athlete burnout in elite volleyball players

    Purpose: The researches about the relationship between self-efficacy and athlete' burnout of elite volleyball players who playing in high level leagues is not available in the literature. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and athletes' burnout in elite volleyball players. Material: The study group is consisted 173 [n=61 female, n=112 male] elite volleyball players. The mean of the age of participants was 25.6 year [+/- 6.3]. Data was collected by personal information form, General Self-Efficacy Scale [GSE] and Athlete Burnout Questionnaire [ABQ]. SPSS 22 program was used in the analysis of the obtained data. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was applied to determine whether the data showed normal distribution and the significance level was accepted as 0.05 in the analyses. Parametric tests were used in the analysis of the data. Results: As a result of the research, high level negative correlation was found between effort and resistance sub-dimension [GSE] and the reduced sense of accomplishment sub-dimension [ABQ] [p<0.01]. In the same way, there was a negative correlation between ability and confidence sub-dimension [GSE] with reduced sense of accomplishment sub-dimension [ABQ] [p<0.01]. Conclusions: This result shows that athletes with high general self-efficacy level have less athlete burnout than others. Volleyball players who played in national teams have higher self-efficacy than others, while athletes have less athlete' burnout. Gender has no relation on volleyball players' self-efficacy and burnout. As the age of the participants decreased, burnout levels increased.
