Özet
Sigortacılık sektörünün ülke ekonomileri için ne denli önemli olduğu sektörün dünya finans piyasalarındaki büyüklüğü incelendiğinde anlaşılmaktadır. Diğer bir önemli nokta ise, ülkelerin sigortacılık sektörünün boyutu ile ekonomik gelişmişlik düzeyi arasında yakın ilişki bulunmasıdır. Ülkemiz açısından incelendiğinde sigortacılık sektörünün finans piyasaları içerisindeki payının çok düşük olduğu görülmektedir. Ancak, Türkiye'de sigortacılık sektörünün gelişiminin ekonominin gelişimine paralel olduğu ve hatta ekonominin büyüme dönemlerinde sigortacılığın ekonomiden daha hızlı bir biçimde büyüdüğü görülmektedir. Bu sebeple sektörün ekonomiden aldığı payın giderek arttığı gözlenmektedir.Bu yüksek lisans tezinde, ilk olarak sigortacılık sektörünün temel kavramlarıyla ilgili genel bilgiler verilecektir. Devamında sigortacılık sektörünün işlevleri hakkında bilgi verilecektir. Üçüncü bölümde dünyada sigortacılık sektörü hakkında bilgi verilecek ve dördüncü bölümde Türkiye'de sigortacılık sektörünün gelişimi ve Türkiye ekonomisindeki gelişmelerin sigortacılık sektöründe ne gibi gelişmelere yol açtığı tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
When we search the greatness of the sector in place of financial markets,we understand the importance of insurance companies for countries’ economics. The other important point is being a relation between the dimension of countries insurance sector and economic developing level. When searched for our country, it is clearly seen that the ratio of insurance sector in Turkey is paralel to the economic development, moreover; it developes insurance faster than the economics during the economic growth times.Therefore; it is monitored that the sector’s ratio, got from economics, is getting bigger in amount. In this master thesis, initially, will be given information about basic terms of insurance sector. And then it will be given information about the function of insurance sector. In the third part, it will be given information about insurance sector in the world. In the fourth part, we will try to alize development of insurance sector in Turkey and in what ways the development of Turkey’s economics affect insurance sector.
