The mono-, di-, tri-, and tetra-acryloyl esters of p-tert-butylcalix [4]arene and calix[4]arene were synthesised by reacting acryloyl chloride with sodium salts of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene and calix[4]arene in THF. The structures of these compounds were characterised by IR, UV-VIS, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. Thermal behaviour of the compounds were also examined by means of differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetry (TG), and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG). © 2012 Elsevier B.V.
